The bulk of the course will be devoted to developing quantum mechanics in a quasi-historical way. To HV advocates, this equation is not just an abstract mathematical trick that gives us the right answer on the blackboard. Covers determinants, matrices, ordinary and partial differential equations, boundary and eigenvalue problems. For example, the speed of light in a vacuum is 3�108ms-1, whereas in glass its speed is about 2�108ms-1.
