The value of h is If you shine a light onto a metal surface for long enough the surface will heat up. Maybe I will get there but I do fully grasp it yet in the case of pilot waves. The GCE Sciences share a common approach to centre assessment. You can think of the wave moving left to right, while the disturbance moves up and down. When the waves are confined to a circular corral, they reflect back on themselves, producing complex patterns (grey ripples) that steer the droplet in an apparently random trajectory (white line). In the experiments reported in PRE, the researchers mounted a shallow tray with a circular depression in it on a vibrating stand. This experiment was then left for an hour or so, when the scientists returned they saw an interference pattern! The values of both universal constants h and k may be calculated rather precisely with the aid of available measurement. There is one striking feature of Bohmian mechanics that is often presented as an objection: in Bohmian mechanics the wave function acts upon the positions of the particles but, evolving as it does autonomously via Schrödinger's equation, it is not acted upon by the particles.

As you look into the night sky, the photons from some star traveled through light years of space unchanged then interacted with an electron in a molecule of your retina, transferred its energy and then otherwise disappeared. If all the parts making up a medium were rigidly bound, then they would all vibrate as one, with no delay in the transmission of the vibration and therefore no wave motion. In 1913 Bohr proposed a radical hypothesis: Electrons in an atom exist only in certain stationary states, including a ground state. =1.[/math] [math]\angle s(x,y) = 2\pi(u_0 x + v_0 y)[/math] Really the only information is in the angle, so you could just plot that. Basically his argument was that there is no obvious place to draw a line between small-scale and large-scale behavior, so he wouldn't draw a line, and he challenged others to “prove” where the line is. If we attempt to reason this way, we get irrationality instead.

But now a set of surprising experiments with fluids has revived old skepticism about that worldview.
